Innovation, precision, orchestrated collaboration, business networks and networking.
These were the top topics attendees discussed during our first full day at Munich.
Ariba President Alex Atzberger kicked-off the plenary session with a series of announcements that highlighted an expansion of AribaPay, a partnership with eBay for Spot Buy, and Ariba Network integration with S/4HANA. Topping the series of announcements was the introduction of Ariba’s new Chief Marketing Officer, Alicia Tillman.
Nedbank executives, Ian Fuller and Shiraz Sarang discussed procurement transformation and revealed the bank’s hybrid path to cloud with SAP, Ariba and SuccesFactors solutions. Early results impressed the audience. The transformation journey is still unfolding as Nedbank continues to pursue its ambitious goals.
A.P. Moller-Maersk Group procurement executive Henrick Larsen delivered a roadmap to procurement excellence that is powered by progressive practices, rich data, and collaboration with business units and suppliers. Maersk’s significant use of e-sourcing and e-auctions for large CAPEX investments like container vessels and satellite equipment has delivered remarkable results.
The plenary session raced to the finish line with an engaging and insightful talk from Formula One legendary leader Mark Gallagher. With a collection of entertaining videos, he showcased the critical orchestration between suppliers and racing teams that enable Formula One teams to successfully compete.
After a plenary session that highlighted the value of collaboration, attendees filled their day with learning, sharing and lots of networking. Our favorite trend was started by our own Alex Atzberger when he tweeted out his name badge. Attendees took notice and used the technique to fuel online and in-person connections.
The best part of Ariba LIVE is summed up in this tweet … one of our favorites!
