Yesterday we had some questions from our well attended webinar on Contingent Labor that featured Travelers Insurance, Kelly Services and our own sourcing category manager.  Each day we will review specific questions.

Q: Are temp labor costs expected to rise given unemployment costs for vendors?

A: In the short term I would anticipate that temp labor rates will remain relatively flat.  However, with that said, once the unemployment figures begin to dip for a few quarters as well as the the overall economic outlook improve, prices as a function of increased supplier mark-ups will increase.
