Question: How does Response Team help?
Answer: Response Team helps in that it looks at the participants as an organisation rather than individual contacts, this allows suppliers to work as a team. If you have multiple contacts from one supplier, the system will be looking for a response from each contact, however setting them as a response team, means that it is only looking for one response from any of the contacts at that supplier organisation. The reason for setting this at the beginning of the event, even if you have only one contact is, that you are not able to set an organisation as a response team after the event is published, this applies for RFIs, RFPs and Reverse Auctions.
Question: What does the supplier see?
Answer: This depends on the settings you chose in the Market Feedback section, the supplier will generally have a view very similar to yours and can see their rank/low bid information depending on what you set up. They will not see Historic Prices, other supplier names or other supplier pricing.
Question: Where do you set up the prebid ceiling for each participant?
Answer: When setting up an item, you will see a button in the Terms area of the Item screen that says 'Set Participant-Specific Values'. This will open up a field next to each participant at the bottom of the Item screen where you can insert the ceiling number.
Question: Is there a way to leverage suppliers in Ariba?
Answer: The Ariba Discovery tool is a way to leverage the large network of suppliers using Ariba today. You can either make a Discovery Posting from your event or create a separate posting prior to your event via the 'Supplier Discovery Posting' link on your Ariba Home page.
Question: So that we could invite preferred suppliers in Suppliers section?
Answer: You have the ability to set up templates in Ariba and therein predetermine which suppliers will be invited to the events. You could create specific category templates with content and suppliers already set up, so that a user would only have to choose the category they are sourcing and that would automatically pull in the suppliers and any other content specific to that category, allowing the useres to add any extra information speficic to that project.
