While there are many ways to go about identifying sourcing opportunities, the ultimate objective is to analyze your spend categories to find those that meet key criteria. The key, high-level steps that should be undertaken are:
1. Filter your spend as appropriate
2. Create a shortlist of potential opportunities based on key criteria available within Ariba Spend Visibility
3. Refine and finalize your shortlist based on criteria not available within Ariba Spend Visibility
Note that these steps must not necessarily be performed in order or separately. You may be able or prefer to combine steps 1 and 2, for example, by selecting your filter criteria at the same time as your sourcing criteria in an opportunity search. The point is that each of the above should be done before finalizing your pipeline.
