    individual bid report

      Hi,

I'm looking since a long time for the possibility to enter individual bid reports as templates to an event (RFP). We always have the problem to customize the excel sheets when the purchasing managers ask for a new status. Sometimes we have to change 5-10 times the standard report! If we have such a function, it's possible for the purchasing manager to create everytime he wants a report without loosing time to adjust the report getting all informations he needs!

How do you keep events with a lot of items and up to hundred suppliers under control? On screen at content? It's not possible, because even their you have no function to save the settings in the 'Table Options Menu' and you can't split and fix the table as you can do in Excel!

I think the report templates are the most convenient way to solve the problem. Do you agree?

      Best regards

      Eckbert

            I agree also!

And that is why this is a high priority item that I plan to include in our planning for the 10s3 release.  When I mentioned this item at the User Conference it was something other customers also thought would provide value.  I think the interest will even increase when we expand upon the idea/concept and present to customers as a possible enahncement.

What do others on here thing?  The ability to create a template for the event reporting that would present the data in a way you designed, sound like a good idea?

                Hi there,

I agree to that it would be good if we could customize the excel reports that the system produces.

E.g. the bid report is fantastic for operational usage and gives good flexible options with the pivottable, but today we don't have a template for e.i. management reports.

I would therefor be nice, if there could be some kind of report generator in the events (better a template), which you can adjust per event or template.

                You got my support.

                Cheers,

                Thue

                  Hi David,

any news about the excel report templates? Could you include the this function into 10s3 and when you will release this version?

                  Hi,

I'll keep this matter in focus for future releases!

I made the experience that the reporting of RFx in Ariba is developable, to say it friendly! On screen you can't save settings in the tab "content" for each RFx and functions to fix collumns, like in Excel, isn't available.

To enlarge the posibilities for better and instant reports 'individual bid reports' are the best way. In my opinion the implementation of individual excel templates shouldn't be a big problem. The basics seems available in the system. Today they have only one standard excel template for all customers.

Why we are keen on this feature? Because of the way of negotiation which is usual in our business. Every time when a bidder place a bid the purchase manager will analyse this bid to rank it and to verify the answer. In case you have a lot of items, a lot of prices (answering fields) and a lot of bidder you have to optimize always the excel file or the content tab to get the real overview! If an offer contains wrong answers you have to inform the bidder in time. Or if a bidder calls, you should be able to answer immediately. In all this cases an excel template helps to speed up your process. And speed is also a reason using a platform like Ariba!

Please let me know your opinion about reporting in ARIBA on RFx-level!

                  Best regards

                  Eckbert

Our sourcing group has a "standard" way of presenting data to our business owners. When we pull an individual bid report from an event that we just ran, we usually have to take that export and manipulate it until it conforms with the how we usually present the results. The form we use for our reports change very little from event to event, so to my mind, it seems only natural to be able to setup a configurable, query-esque, report template that will export individual bid events the same way each time it is run, much the same way that the broader reports can be configured and queried without modifying it's structure everytime. I have to admit, as excited I was about using Ariba, and as versitile much of the rest of the solution is, I am disappointed by the flexiblity of the individual bid reporting as currently available. I have been resigned to creating an excel macro that will populate a report from a raw data export.

Having configurable individual bid report templates is high on my team's wish/need list.

                      Regards,

                      Ed

                          Hi,

I'm still waiting for the possibility to save templates for individual bid reports in excel.

Emptoris has solved this with an "excel macro" (vba)! It is possible to optimize the datas in the excel file by choosing different options and filters and in the end you can store these settings. Later with updated datas in a new download of the excel template you can load the settings again and get the same analysis but with the new datas without spending a lot of time preparing the export file.

This could be a posibility to solve the matter without changing the any source code of the exisiting plattform.

It should be easy to find a specialist in programming of excel!

                          Best regards
