How is the Performance of Ariba Procurement Content in non-US countries

We're looking at using Ariba Procurement Content 'in the cloud' and would like to get feedback from other users of this tool who are accessing from non-US countries. Given the servers are based in Sunnyvale, would Australian users see performance issues?

We are using Ariba Procurement Content (APC) on demand as the Catalog content ‘holder’ – accessed via our SAP SRM(eProcurement), self service tool.

We have a singe, Global instance of SAP/ SRM - used by over 8,000 (and growing) staff in 94 countries – all around the world – including most Asian countries. We are finding very little difference in the response times within the APC On demand site/ application – between 2 – 7 seconds for an action response / screen refresh to complete (e.g. carry out a search or add to cart) both within US and other countries – including India, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and India. The longer time is the time taken to access Ariba from within SRM - which can be in excess of 60 seconds – although we have seen it as quick as 2 seconds.  I think this is more of an issue with / result of our internal infrastructure capability / limitations. Overall –once we get onto Ariba (APC) we are fairly happy with the response times – for all countries. Hope this helps Regards Mark Thompson (Thomson Reuters)
