You can lock the other suppliers and then re-open the event. But, when you do this, they will get notifications that they have been locked and when the event is re-opened. We do have the ability to turn off email notifications in the event which would help, but the notifications are still stored in the event. That is the best way to handle that use case currently.

I have tested this and the locked supplier receives a notification that he/she has been locked out of the event, but does not receive a notification that the event has been re-opened.
